 The Spacesaver staircases we produce are designed to meet the UK buiding regulations Part K sections 1.22 to 1.24 for Alternating tread Staircases.

Shaw Stairs Ltd are suppiers only of Spacesaver Stairs and  the responsability for meeting the other requirments lies with the customer.

A few of the other general requirments with Alternating Tread staircases are :-
A-The staircase must have handrails to Both Sides.
B- The Treads must have slip resistant surfaces.
C- A Alternating Tread Staircase should only be used if there is insufficient room for a normal staircase.
D- A Alternating Tread Staircase should only be used in a Loft conversion where the staircase serves only 1 habitable room,togerther with if desired a bathroom and/or WC. This WC must not be the only WC in the dwelling.

Due to the design and pitch of alternating tread staircases the user relies on familiarity together with regular use for reasonable safety.Anti Slip Tread Covers not included.

Please note when ordering your Spacesaver staircase that this staircase is to be tailor made to your specific sizes and has no value to anyone else but yourself, due to the staircase being a purpose made item we cannot offer a refund.
